BLUE FLAG PROGRAM
Ana from Aquacenter Diving gives support to the Flamingo Blue Flag Program. This past year she helped the Blue Flag Committee to receive the Blue Flag award for Playa Flamingo (Playa Blanca) for 2009. The program includes various clean up days during the year, a dengue spray campaign and environmental education programs. The goal is to have a clean Flamingo beach, build awareness in the community and be a sustainable developing town. Thanks to the Flamingo Association, local businesses, residents, Potrero school children and volunteers. And a special "Thank You to Pat Brady" who helped the program these past years and is no longer with us.

SHARKS AND RAYS COUNT
For four years we have registered the sightings of sharks and rays in the Catalina Islands Area, just offshore Flamingo Beach. Hopefully it will help wider studies to get a better understanding of their behavior and population.
